How Will myCP Affect our District?
myCP is a piece of software which currently does not talk to grading systems such as Aeries or Zangle. It is intended for the use of individual teachers who want to have a simple, non-subjective way to measure (and improve) class participation, by near-real-time reporting to the student and parent.
The teacher who uses myCP will use its data either for inclusion in the district system or for borderline grading decisions. I am planning plug-ins for importing myCP data into district grading systems; however, none of these exist currently, so any movement of data from myCP to a district grading system is strictly manual.
I originally wrote myCP to be used with a PDA, operated by the teacher in the classroom. I am not a vendor of PDA software. Teachers or districts interested in trying or licensing Participate, from Hands High, should contact them directly.
myCP is available for free unlimited use by any teacher in the U.S. or Canada. The PDA interface and the myCP Google Gadget — a simple and rapid way for students and parents to monitor daily participation — are included in the myCP Upgrade package, available to individual teachers for $15 annually.
