myCP Live Demo for Teachers

There are two ways to see myCP in action before you decide to sign up.

  1. To see how your students and parents can easily view the day's classroom-participation points:

    • Go to My Points and enter the student ID 999999 and site ID 999. You will see a live report of demo data from the myCP database.
  2. To see the myCP Google Gadget view of this demo data:

    • If you don't already have an iGoogle account, go to the iGoogle home page, and sign up for an account.
      1. Click Sign In.
      2. On the next page, click Create an account now. (You will be asked to supply an email address; however, this is not verified. Provide a fictitious address if you are concerned about privacy.) Follow the prompts to create your new iGoogle account.
    • Add the myCP Google Gadget to your iGoogle page:
      1. Go to the iGoogle home page, and click the Save button in the Welcome box.
      2. Click the Add stuff link near the top right corner.
      3. Near the top of the page, click the Add by URL link.
      4. Copy this URL, and paste it in the field: http://www.rhodewalt.com/mycp/ig/mycp.xml
        (Be sure "http://" only appears once in the field.)
      5. Click the Add button, and click OK when Google notifies you that this is an externally developed application.
      6. Click Back to homepage in the top-left corner of the page.
      7. The myCP Google Gadget will prompt you for your preferences. Enter 999999 in the Student ID field and 999 in the Site ID field. Click the Show name? checkbox, and click Save.
      8. You will see the indicator lights flash as the Gadget downloads the current data from the myCP database.
